At the invitation of one of her clients, Joanna Migdal and her husband attended Ascot Races in June 2009. For the occasion, she designed and commissioned an unique sundial hat. This was specifically calculated for the latitude of Ascot, so that when she faced south, the shadow cast by the feathers accurately showed the time of each race. Her husband is seen beside her, with compass in his hand, to ensure that the hat could be correctly aligned.
